I know that the whole Social Networking "fad" is most often associated with teens. They update their lives all day long about homework, breakups, parties, and the like. You might think why would I ever bother to go there? The answer quite simply is because it's where you can garner instant support. If you're a candidate for any office, I highly recommend getting at the very least a Facebook account. The next most important social networking tool is YouTube (where you can post all your speeches or tv punditry about you), followed by MySpace. There is also another social networking place that hasn't been tapped really by politicians and that's LinkedIn. LinkedIn is like Facebook for professionals. Not that Facebook is bad, it's just that they are two totally different audiences that you're catering to with both I think the in the 2010 election cycle you'll be seeing a lot more candidates tapping into LinkedIn. I'll be offering up further suggestions as time permits.
