Scary Legislation PDF Print E-mail

This past week a bill came up before the Kentucky legislature. This bill would make it mandatory for any "interactive service provider" to collect personal information from people before they'd be allowed to post on any sort of blog or forum. The lawmakers and authors of the bill say that it's to cut down on internet bullying, but had the bill passed it would have had enormous ramifications for my business in that it would just about shut us down, or force us to move it, and ourselves out of the state. That's because this company, and it's parent BlodgetTech host many blogs and forums that offer anonymous commenting. Luckily the legislation isn't going to move forward, but it was a pretty scary idea anyway. It's another reason to keep on the ball with legislation and your industry.

I'd like to point you to two very well written blog pieces about the legislation:

Blogging for SEO PDF Print E-mail

I'd like to give you some examples of Blogging and SEO.

I was heavily involved in the New Media Community promoting Mitt Romney for President of the United States.

He has since dropped his Presidential bid, but I'd like to share with you some amazing results that I achieved during this process. I started the first grassroots blog for any candidate for President. This was back in June of 2005, well before he announced for President on February 13th, 2007 in Dearborn MI. During the course of this process I was able to land that blog for Mitt Romney Elect Romney in 2008 on the first page of the major search Engines. At one point it was ranked #3 on Google behind his main site and his Wikipedia Entry. If you check the site out today (which has since transitioned) it's still on the first page #7 last I checked yesterday. It's also ranked in the 170,000 range on Alexa. I did a website grader of the site, and it's in the top 1% of all websites. The transitioned site is already moving up, and ranked in the 1,000,000 range on Alexa (this is in the time frame since Governor Romney dropped out of the race).

Other sites for Romney in which I was able to achieve really good search engine ranking were Women for Romney (if you do a search for Romney Women it will come up #1 on the first page), South Carolinians for Romney (#2 for South Carolina Romney), Michiganders for Romney (#1 Michigan Romney), New Hampshire for Romney (#1 New Hampshire Romney), Kentuckians for Romney (#1 Kentucky Romney), and Californians for Romney (#1 California Romney).

I have the skills to do this for you in your industries, and names. The best thing about it, is that you don't have to pay for these type of results (well, besides my fee). It's a slower process but it garners long term results, once you're "set" in the search engines as long as you tend to them (i.e. keep the content fresh) you're set.

If you'd like to contact me so that we can discuss your needs in this area, please feel free. I look forward to working with you. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Need for New Media PDF Print E-mail

The new catchword in e-business is blogging. If you don’t know what a blog is, it’s best explained this way. A blog is a sort of journal that you update with thoughts, stories, or information that you deem appropriate to promote your business or gives information about your industry. If you don’t know how to get started the first thing you can put on your blog is all of your press releases. A blog, unlike static pages keeps your company in constant contact with the search engines. In turn, your sites overall search engine score goes up. If you update your blog enough, and keep it fresh with pertinent content, your company can ascend to the tops of the search engine rankings with your most popular keywords. Now for the sake of transparency this does not happen overnight. It takes time, effort, and skills to achieve and you’re not likely to ascend to #1, but attaining page one is a very possible goal.  I can't think of one single company or service provider who couldn't benefit from a blog.

Here at SpinTech these type of New Media Technologies is our specialty and we can help you with this services. We can also help you keyword optimize your blog, and help you keep it fresh. We’re willing to blog for you, or give you the skills to do it yourself. It’s totally up to you. But, we believe it’s a very important and integral part of having a successful e-business.
